Nike: Kobe III

VIEW SPOT
A pleasure working with Caio Lazzurri and Steve Tornello on this project for Nike, One Move Ahead. We shot a radical spot down in LA with Kobe Bryant (Director: Jesse Dylan). Massively happy with how it turned out.

Halo 3: Believe - Making It
It was a real treat to get to work with some of the best in the industry on this project. Figured I'd post some pics from the shoot, post the credits, and try to give some idea of how we pulled this thing off. The idea was to memorialize the great hero of Halo, Master Chief. What better way than to build a monument to him ... a monument capturing a moment of the Battle of New Mombasa (in which Master Chief saved humanity). New Deal Studios was building the 30x40 foot diorama. Stan Winston Studios was building the figurines. And we wanted to bring this memorial online.

Using the 3D Maya file that New Deal was building from, we came up with the rough path we wanted to shoot. The Great Zanato (above - right) and I (above - left) went to New Deal Studios to shoot it. Matt Gratzner (below) was our director ... and also the guy that built the thing. We had 2 motion control rigs, an amazing crew, and 2 days. After seeing the thing in person, we knew we had to bring as much of it online as possible. To give users the chance to get right up close and appreciate the outrageous detail.

We came back with the footage and started putting it together. The team was amazing ... Thiago and I didn't sleep for a couple weeks. Matt slept a little, but not much. Kirk must have had 3 ulcers. Jason Gatt worked some serioius business on the architecture. Kevin and Alex tied it into a cohesive piece visually. The great Lazzurri handled a ridiculous title sequence. And Keith/Joel added another level of depth with their writing. Thanks to everybody involved. One of the best teams I've ever had the privelege of working with.
